| Went to the ALMS race at Lime Rock today. beautiful weather, beautiful facility. Very fan friendly setup. Paddocks were open to everyone all day, interview sessions, you can wander anywhere on the grounds to take pictures, they even opened up the grid to fans just before the start, where all the cars and their drivers were lined up, shaking people's hands, answering questions, and bullshitting. Very cool. As far as the main event, maybe someone who watched it on tv can fill me in. Where I was sitting when this happened, the speakers weren't on, plus I had earplugs in , so I had a hard time following things. One of the LM1 cars drove by on fire (lol) during a caution. After it passed, the fire pickup pulled out onto the track. Just then they dropped the green flag, and about 20 cars almost piled up into the back of the fire truck, which just kept on chuggin around the track. Eventually they threw out the yellow flag again while they cleaned up some fluids on the track. Someone screwed up big time right there. Anyway I highly recommend going to an event like this. The speeds are just incredible. Since I have driven LRP several times, I fully appreciated the lap times. Makes HPDEs look like a joke. And damn those cars are loud as hell! I forgot my earplugs but figured I wouldn't be that close. Well I was wrong, and I had to go buy a set. My photography sucks (no zoom-- I was that close), it was hot and I was tired, and I couldn't see the camera lcd from behind my Oakleys anyway, so don't complain. Sprint race in the morning. Only Z I saw all day. Note the car in the weeds =)
Winners of the LM1 class (Audi R8) at Le Mans a few weeks ago. Nice trophy.

Corvette guys had the nicest paddock around.
 Noble M12 on display.
Even Porsche professional pit crews need racer's tape.
I got to meet Randy Pobst. Very cool, humble guy. [Note: I have a thing about posting pics of myself on the net, hence the blur.]
Grid opened up before the start. Me with a nice Porsche.

Got brake ducts?

I tried to get this shot on about 15 successive laps. This is the best I could do.

The obligatory booty shots.
Mmmm,Pirelli girls. I love those pants.

Some chic at the Caddy booth.
